(www.irna.ir) - Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos here stressed the importance of continuing his country's consultations with Iran through diplomatic channels.
In a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Madrid Davoud Salehi, Moratinos assessed as "positive" the two countries' political cooperation.
He took the occasion to invite his Iranian counterpart, Manouchehr Mottaki, to take part in a conference of foreign ministers of middle-income countries scheduled to be held in Madrid next month in cooperation with the UN and some regional and international organizations, reports Trend.
Salehi, for his part, submitted a written invitation from Mottaki for his Spanish counterpart to visit Tehran, and said Iran was ready to bolster mutual relations with Spain in all fields.
The two officials, in the meeting, also discussed avenues for expanding bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest as well as leading regional and international developments.
