S Korea urges settlement of Iran's N-case through diplomacy

( IRNA ) - South Korean Foreign Minister Song Min-soon Monday in Seoul underscored the need for settlement of Iran's nuclear case through diplomatic talks.

In a meeting with the visiting Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mehdi Mostafavi, he appreciated Iran's efforts in line with confidence-building and assuring the international community of the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities.

Terming Tehran-Seoul relations as ancient and friendly, he expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral economic and political cooperation.

He expressed hope that all-out bilateral relations will boost in the near future.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments.

As to critical situation in Iraq, Song praised efforts made by the Islamic Republic of Iran to help establish peace and security in that war-torn country and the entire Mideast region.

The Iranian official, for his part, outlined the latest developments in Iran's nuclear activities and hoped Iran's nuclear case would be settled through peaceful means.

He then conveyed warm greetings of Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and invited Song to pay a visit to Tehran in the near future.

Mostafavi arrived in Seoul Monday morning on a two-day visit.
