Two Iranian car manufacturing companies come to full stop

In the Iranian month of Bahman (Jan. 21 to Feb. 19), two car manufacturing companies had no production at all.

Rayen, which produced 76 sedans in the month of Bahman last year, did not produce any in the same period this year, ISNA news agency reported March 10.

Moratab, another car manufacturing company which produced 9 vehicles last year in Bahman, had no production this year the same period.

Meanwhile, the giant automotive company Iran Khodro had 42.9 percent growth in the same period, increasing its production number from 36,410 to 52,045.

Also, Modiran car manufacturing company had a 66.7 percent growth, increasing the output from 1,961 to 3,269.

Saipa also increased production by 7.9 percent as its output surged from 27,665 to 29,842.

In the same period, Bahman car manufacturing group had a 388 percent jump in production as it made the output of 100 soar to 488.
Kerman Motor also experienced 131.8 percent growth by enhancing its output from 2,010 to 4,660.

Tehran produced 989,110 cars in 2012, which made the country Asia 's eighth largest car manufacturer. Iran also stood at the world's 18th place in the mentioned year.

The Islamic Republic's automobile output faced a 40 percent decrease in 2012 due to the sanctions. The country was Asia 's fifth largest car manufacturer in 2011, with a total output of 1,648,505.

Western countries suspended certain sanctions against Iran as the Geneva nuclear deal came into force on January 20, 2014. Iran was permitted to import materials for its auto-manufacturing sector as a result of the nuclear deal implementation, which led to a sharp increase in the country's auto output.
