Aegean Airlines SA's agent in Tehran has announced that the Greek airline's first flight to Iran will land in Tehran July 23 at 1:00 pm local time.
The airliner will leave the Tehran Emam Khomeini Airport that very day at 2:00 pm, Mohsen Manzari, the director of the agency said, IRNA news agency reported July 22.
The Airbus 320 will carry over 100 passengers, Manzari stated.
The flight will operate three days a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Iran will launch new flights to different destinations in Europe within the next few months, Deputy Head of Iran 's Civil Aviation Organization Mohammad Khodakarami said July 7.
Khodakarami said in April that European airlines seek to increase flights to Iran. A German airline has recently booked flights to Iran, he said, adding that the ceiling of flights to the country is 14 flights per week.
Turkish Airlines and Air Asia have announced readiness to increase flights to the country, he noted.
