Iran’s aluminum ingot output increases

Some 123,661 metric tons of aluminum ingots were produced in Iran during the first four months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-July 22).

The figure shows four-percent growth compared to the same period of preceding year, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported Aug. 22.

Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO), produced 60,831 metric tons of aluminum ingots in the 4-month period, while the volume of aluminum ingot production in the Al-Mahdi Aluminum Corporation (AAC) and Hormozal companies stood at 27,831 and 34,999 metric tons respectively.

Iran produced 83,856 metric tons of alumina powder in the period as well.

Some 29,825 metric tons of aluminum ingots and 21,255 metric tons of alumina powder have also been produced in the fourth Iranian calendar month (June 22-July 22).

It was previously announced that Iran plans to increase its annual aluminum ingot production capacity up to 910,000 metric tons by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (March 2016).
