Iran's government employees to get 12% salary increase

The Iranian government will increase the salaries of the country's state employees from next week, ISNA news agency reported May 18.

Based on the current fiscal year's (started March 20) national budget law, the state employees will get a 12 percent increase in their salary.

The national Iranian budget bill was passed by the Guardian Council May 18 after being rejected two times.

The formulas to be used for accounting employees' salaries under the national budget law will be sent to administrative agencies for implementation.

The Iranian government increased state employees' salaries by 14 percent last fiscal year (ended March 20).

Iran's inflation rate stands at 10.8 percent, according to the latest report of the country's Statistical Center.

Iran officials say salary of employees share main part of the government expenses.
