Iran commences new unit at petchem plant

Iran commenced a new ammonia and urea unit at Marvdasht Martyrs Petrochemical Plant on July 19, SHANA reported.

The unit, third in number at the mentioned plant, increases the country's total output of the ammonia and urea to 4.5 million tons and 5.5 million tons per year, respectively.

The unit processes 680,000 tons of ammonia, as well as 75,000 tons of urea per year.

Iran produced 46 million tons of various petrochemical products during last fiscal year (ended on March 21), of which 19 million tons was exported.
