Iranians residing abroad invests $600M in the country during 2016

Since the implementation of nuclear agreement between Iran and P 5+1 -including US, UK, France China, Russia and Germany- Iranians who lives abroad have invested $600 million in the country, Javad Ghavam Shahidi, chairman of the High Council on Iranian Expatriates Affairs said.

According to him, Iran’s GDP growth is expected to stand at 6.5 percent in coming two decades, which would lead to creation of new 8 million job opportunities by 2035, IRNA reported Nov.16.

The number of Iranians residing abroad is estimated at 5 to 6 million people, according to the official statistics.

Before, Shahidi said in December 2015 that the economic turnover of Iranians living abroad is between $1.5 to $4 trillion.

Iranians mostly live in North America, Europe, Gulf States, Turkey, Australia and the broader Middle East.
