Iran, Germany sign MoU on water research

Iran and Germany signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for joint water researches.

The deal was signed on the sidelines of visit of Iran's Deputy Energy Minister Rahim Meidani to Berlin, Mehr news agency reported Apr. 4.

Under the MoU, the both sides will cooperate in development of training and conducting joint researches regarding water.

Furthermore the Iranian official, who was visiting the International Trade Fair and Congress for Water and Wastewater in Berlin, explained the capacities for investment in Iran’s water projects.

Meidani said that because of the growing challenges of climate change his country had started a number of water industry projects worth billions.

He invited German investors to participate in the projects, saying the Iranian energy ministry will spare no effort to pave path for credible German firms to take part in various fields of water and wastewater industry in Iran.

The Iranian and German officials also discussed the issue of boosting mutual cooperation on the sidelines of the fair.
