Turkey continues to skip importing Iran's power

Turkey hasn’t imported Iranian power since May 2016, the new statistics of Turkey Energy Market Regulatory indicate.

The country didn’t import Iranian power in January 2017.

Before, Iran said that it halted power export to Turkey due to $200-million delayed debt.Turkey hasn’t confirmed the debt issue as of yet.

Turkey decreased Iranian electricity import from 216 gigawatt hours in January 2016 to 2.2 GWh in May and stopped electricity intake since the beginning of June.

In total, Turkey imported only 545 GWh of Iranian electricity energy during last year in total, while the figure for the previous year was about 3.2 times less than 2015.
