Iran has inaugurated the Persian Gulf Refinery. The factory’s first phase came on stream in a ceremony with President Hassan Rouhani.

The first phase of the refinery’s nominal output is 120,000 barrels of gas condensates per day, IRIB news agency reported April 30.

The phase will produce 12 million liters of Euro 4 gasoline, 4.5 million tons of Euro 4 gas oil, 1 million liters of Euro 4 kerosene, and 1.3 million liters of Euro 4 LPG per day. The gasoline output makes Iran free of the need to import gasoline.

If the Persian Gulf Star is fully operational, it will produce 36 million liters of Euro 4 and Euro 5 gasoline.

The remaining phases 2 and 3 will become operational in 6 and 12 months respectively.
