US-Iran’s five-month trade plunges

The trade turnover between Iran and the US decreased significantly during five months of 2017.

The trade turnover between Iran and the US decreased by 41 percent to $66 million in January-May 2017, compared to the same period in 2016, according to the statistics of the United States Census Bureau.

However, Iran’s exports value to the US is more than its imports.

Iran increased export to the US by $6.6 million to $34.2 million, while its imports decreased by $33.8 million to $31.8 million.

During last year, the US exported $172 million worth of goods to Iran, mostly agriculture products and medical equipment, and imported $86 million worth of goods from Iran, mostly pistachios and carpets.
