Iran’s NIDC unveils drilling performance details

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) drilled over 216.178 kilometers of oil and gas wells using its drilling equipment during the first 10 months of Iran’s current fiscal year (March 20, 2017-Jan. 21), Hamid Reza Khoshayand, deputy managing director of NIDC, said.

The company carried out drilling of 134 offshore and onshore oil and gas wells during the 10-month period, Khoshayand said, the press office of the NIDC said.

The wells included 60 delineation wells two exploratory and 72 repairing ones, he added.

The NIDC drilled over 20,138 meters of oil and gas wells in the 10th Iranian calendar month (Dec. 21-Jan. 21).

The National Iranian South Oil Fields Company (NISOC) shared 98 of the drilled wells, followed by Iranian Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (26 wells), Iranian Offshore Oil Company (eight wells) and Exploration Directorate of National Iranian Oil Company (two wells), Khoshayand said.

The NIDC owns 73 light, heavy and ultra-heavy onshore and offshore drilling rigs, the official added.

The company carried out drilling of 193 offshore and onshore oil and gas wells (293 kilometers) during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017).
