By Kamyar Eghbalnejad, A. Shirazi - Trend:

Tehran Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will be established in the capital’s south in the not too distant future, the director of the new Shahr-e-Aftab (Sun City) complex Raoof Qaderi said.

Tehran’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will be set up in an area of 10,000 hectares south of Tehran in the next two years, Qaderi told Trend on June 27.

Stressing that the center could help increase investments and create more jobs, he added that new financial policies regard investing, taxation, trading, quotas, customs and labor regulations will take effect with the zone’s establishment.

“Grounds for holding great exhibitions, industrial events and expositions will be prepared soon in Tehran by the trade zone,” Qaderi said.

Formalities have always been one of the major obstacles on the path of investors in Iran, he said, adding that new business and trade laws at the zone could solve this problem.

“We are working to address the legal formalities set by provinces’ high councils, government and parliament”, Qaderi said.
