Iran’s quarterly steel output registers growth

Iran’s major state-run steel companies produced over 4.849 million tons of steel ingots during the first quarter of the current fiscal year (March 20-June 21).

The figure indicates a 17-percent increase compared to the preceding year, the Islamic Republic’s Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) said.

Mobarakeh steel manufacturing group ranked first producing 2.463 million tons of ingots, followed by Khouzestan Steel Co. with 976,433 tons of output.

Esfahan Steel Co.(580,831 tons), Khorasan Steel Co.(278,192 ton), South Kaveh Steel Company (254,126 tons), Chadormalou (205,706 tons) and Iran Steel Alloy (90,678 tons) were the other leading steel ingot producers.

The nine major steel producers also produced over 2.864 million tons of various steel products (bloom, billet, slab, beam, rebar, cast iron ingot and etc.) in the 3-month period.

Mobarakeh steel manufacturing group took the highest share from the manufactured steel products (1.768 million tons), followed by Isfahan Steel company (568,284 tons), Oxin Steel Company (181,000 tons), Khorasan Steel Co. (162,000 tons), Azerbaijan Steel Co. (70,944 tons) and Iran Steel Alloy (49,170 tons).

Based on a 2025 outlook, Iran’s steel output is to reach 55 million tons, 15 million of which should be exported.
