An Iranian deputy minister said the government has set up some 60 export management companies in industrial towns across the country to facilitate non-oil exports.

“So far, 60 export management companies have been established in industrial towns,” Sadeq Najafi, who also doubles as the managing director of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization, said on July 25, IRNA news agency reported.

He added that the move is aimed at facilitating and boosting non-oil export and raising its total value to $4 billion during the current Iranian fiscal year (started March 21).

The deputy minister said small and medium-sized enterprises have no information on how to establish a foothold in the sector of export, adding that export management companies could help them and facilitate their exports.

Some 19,000 industrial units are being constructed in industrial parks across Iran, the work on 8,000 of which has progressed by more than 60 percent.

According to Najafi, there are 84,000 licensed production units in Iranian industrial parks, 70 percent of which are active.
