Iran Central Bank reports on capital market performance

The main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) increased by 34.9 percent over the first months of the current fiscal year (March 20-July 22), according to the latest statistics released by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

The CBI said that the TSE main index reached 108,831 points in the 4-month period ending July 22.

The figure was 13 percent more compared to the beginning of the current fiscal year (March 20). In the meantime, compared to the preceding month the main index dropped by 0.04 percent.

TSE financial index declined by 7.9 percent year-on-year and stood at 121,429 by the end of fourth calendar month (July 22), according to the report.

Meanwhile the TSE industrial index surged by 41.6 percent to stand at 98,389, top 50 performers index increased by 47 percent posting 4,605, the first market index rose by 39.9 percent reaching 78,499.

The second market index also gained 26.2 percent and stood at 224,749 at the same time.

The number of the traded shares increased by 23.7 percent year-on-year and amounted to 90,727 million shares.

The value of the hand changed shares accounted to 206.1 trillion rials during the 4-month period to July 22, 21.4 percent more year-on-year.

Number of the registered companies in the TSE stood at 326 by July 22 compared to 325 by July 22, 2017, the CBI said.
