This year (according to the Iranian calendar), Iran was aiming to enter the CIS market of household appliances, Amin Mannani, a member of the Board of the Association of Home Appliance Industries of Iran, said in an interview with ILNA.

However, the changes in foreign currency policies that have been taking place so far and the instability in the foreign exchange market have led to the failure of this program, he said.

That is because the South Korean and Turkish brands are taking well thought-out steps in the market of household appliances, he added.

He said that in terms of technology and quality, Iranian products aren’t inferior to foreign brands.

“We can actively participate in markets of the Middle East,” he noted. “Last year, we exported products to Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Mannani said that Iran had to sell products at a low price in order to take over these markets from the famous brands.
