11 solar-powered bath houses created for nomads in Iran

Some 11 solar-powered bath houses have been created for nomads in the West Azerbaijan Province of Iran from the beginning of the current year (March 21) up to now, Bahram Zeinalzadeh, General Director of Nomadic Affairs Center of West Azerbaijan Province of Iran, said in an interview with IRNA.

He noted that the resources amounting to approximately $30,000 have been spent for development and installation of the bath houses powered by solar energy. The installation of the bath houses powered by solar energy has been implemented with the purpose of provision of welfare and well-being of the nomads.

Zeinalzadeh said 15,599 nomadic families reside in the province, and added that approximately 600 families have moved to areas beyond the boundaries of the province, and the rest of the families have stayed within the boundaries of the province in the summer houses in the mountains and in winter camps situated in the suburbs of Chaldiran, Khoy, Poldasht, Maku, Mahabad, Salmas and Shahin Dezh urban areas of Iran.

The West Azerbaijan Province has 2,670,000 hectares of crop areas. The nomads are engaged in crop growing and livestock breeding in a territory of 1,600,000 hectares. The nomads of the province have 10 communities and 22 independent tribes and they own 336 villages.
