Export of Iranian mining materials drops, import increases

Iran's export of mining materials dropped by more than 20 percent in the first five months of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), ISNA cited the statistics released by the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

However, imports of mining materials increased by 10 percent.

In the five months of this Iranian year, the value of export of coal and lignite increased by 607.1 percent. However, the value of export of metal minerals and other mining materials decreased by 40 percent and 7.8 percent, respectively.

Import of mining materials, excluding metal minerals, coal and lignite, decreased by 6 percent. However, value of imports of these materials increased by more than 47 percent.

The value of export of mining materials in the first six months of this Iranian year decreased by 33.4 percent and reached $524.6 million compared to the same period last year.

The value of import of mining materials increased by 21.8 percent and reached $111.6 million compared to the same period last year.
