During the current harvest season, until Dec. 13, 2018, soybean farmers in Iran's Golestan Province handed over approximately 19,000 tons of soy crops to crop purchase centers, Director General of Grain Company and Trading Services of Golestan Hamid Reza Ali Mohammadi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
Purchase price for a kilogram of crops was 24,694 rials (roughly $0.58).
Total value of the soy crops handed to the purchase centers is 435 billion rials (roughly $10.3 million), Ali Mohammadi said.
As of Dec. 13, 299 billion rials (roughly $7.11 million) were paid to farmers, he said, adding that the rest of the money will be gradually paid off.
Golestan with its 676,000 hectares of fields is one of Iran's leading grains, oilseeds, as well as soybean producing provinces.
