By the end of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), electricity production in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province will increase by 400 megawatts, governor of the province Mohammad Mehdi Shahriyari said, Trend reports via ISNA.

He said that with the commissioning of 400 megawatt power plant in Urmia city, the province’s electricity generation will reach 900 megawatts.

He added that the province won’t have problems with the electricity supply to industrial and manufacturing facilities.

“Because Iran’s West Azerbaijan province is located on the border, the province has a program on electricity exports,” he said.
