Trend:

Due to the high capacity of domestic appliance production within the country, which meets the needs in the market, the import of home appliances to Iran has been prohibited since 2018.

"Thus, the exported goods, sold with a huge price difference at the main markets, are certainly smuggled," Iran's Home Appliances Association Secretary Habibollah Ansari told Trend.

"Appliances in border markets such as Baneh in Kurdistan province are mainly smuggled,” Habinollah Ansari added. "These goods, besides being not reliable in terms of quality, also do not have guarantee.”

Ansari went on to say about the after-sales services of home appliances in Iran.

“In the Association, installation, periodic and after-sales services are guaranteed for all household appliances and are based on national standards that assures people made a good purchase,” he said.

Services do not cover the items sold in border markets such as Baneh, he added. “People should be aware of the complications of buying smuggled goods, and realize that domestic appliances meet their needs,” said Ansari.
