More than 500,000 tons of products exported from Iran's Markazi province

Some 559,800 tons of goods were exported from Iran’s Markazi province during four months (March 21-July 22) of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), Director General of the Customs Administration of Markazi province Ismayil Huseyni said.

The value of these products amounted to more than $327 million, while the volume export of goods increased by 11 percent during four months of this Iranian year compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Huseyni added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

He stressed that various hydrocarbons, fruit juices, heavy and light polyethylene, glass, polypropylene and other products were exported to 63 countries, including, among others, Iraq, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

Huseyni said that 64,100 tons of goods worth more than $160 million were imported to the province during the reporting period. The import of products increased by 65 percent ​​in terms of weight and by 52 percent in terms of value.

The products have been imported from 48 countries, including Turkey, China, Germany, India and Italy, he said. Among the imported products were raw materials, equipment, cars and others, Huseyni noted.

He added that 164 criminal cases on illegal transportation of goods worth 182 billion rials (about $4.34 million) through the customs of the province were filed. Among the goods were cigarettes, car parts, household goods, fabric, and mobile phones.

According to him, the revenues earned by the customs administration of the province amounted to 371 billion rials (about $8.83 million) during four months of this year, having increased by 66 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year.

Presently, about 480 exporters operate in Markazi province.
