Fish feed worth $2.7 million was exported from Iran’s Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), said Mohammad Kazem Monzavi, deputy chairman of the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industries, Mining and Trade Organization, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.
Monzavi noted that 2,660 tons of products were exported to Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as well as to Iraq, Tajikistan and other countries.
The deputy chairman said that over 80,000 tons of fish feed were produced in the province this Iranian year, adding that the production increased by 24 percent compared to the same period last year.
“It is possible to produce up to 100,000 tons of fish feed per year at the production facilities in the province, and about 300 tons of fish feed are daily produced,” Monzavi added.
The deputy chairman said that in addition to the exports, the production facility meets 55 percent of Iran’s demand for fish feed.
Iran’s biggest fish feed plant in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province was commissioned in 2011 with private investments worth 25 billion rials (about $595,000).
