TEHRAN, Iran, Aug.5

Trend:

Iranian government expects an economic breakthrough in the coming week, said Iranian President.

"The parliament and judiciary fully understand the government situation, and they try to help; the three powers stood at the same position during our recent meeting, and in the coming week, if all agree on the agenda, there will be an economic breakthrough," said Hassan Rouhani, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The Supreme Leader has given orders to the government, and three powers have discussed important economic issues during their last meeting," the head of state said. "It is important to acknowledge the government's efforts against sanctions."

"Nobody could endure two years of (re-imposed) sanctions better than us, we are stronger than before and our situation has improved. Petrochemical and steel production, operations of water treatment plants and stock market in the country have also improved, and the government is expected to build a new railway and 518-kilometer highway by 2021," the president said adding that this difficult situation requires cooperation of all branches of power.

"During past six months, our country has manufactured parts worth $90 million for the production sector, and we have become self-sufficient in producing parts despite sanctions and coronavirus situation," he noted.
