Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's visit to China was aimed to resolve some communication obstacles between the two countries, said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh, Trend reports via IRNA.
"Zarif 's trip to China had various dimensions, there were specific obstacles that needed to be solved. The negotiations were fruitful in this regard," Khatibzadeh said.
"Iran would welcome any plan that recognizes the realities of the region," said the official, pointing out that Iran also supports intra-regional dialogue that includes comprehensive mechanisms," he said.
Iran's Foreign Minister left Tehran for China on Friday, to meet Wang Yi, his Chinese counterpart and the members of the State Council. The Iranian diplomat noted ahead of his visit that the exchange of views on international and regional developments and the expansion of bilateral relations would be on the agenda.
