Development of Shahid Rajaei port in Iran would increase Iran's export and transit capacity, Director General of public relations of Hormozgan Ports Organization Adham Rezvani told Trend.
"One of the development projects is to install three 1,400-meter oil docks. It would help to increase the capacity of Shahid Rajaei port, to compete on international scale," Rezvani said.
"The position of Shahid Rajaei port would improve, compare to other ports, once this project is implemented. The unloading and loading capacity of the container terminal in the port would increase from 6.3 million TEU to 8.4 million TEU , the ships that harbored could have 18,400 TEU and 185,000 DWT capacity," he said.
"The construction of three oil docks is an important project in Shahid Rajaei port and the operation of docks could improve country's export and transit of oil products," he said.
"Shahid Rajaei port 's capacity to export oil products would increase 30 percent by utilizing these docks," he said.
