Iran kicks off operation to develop Kong fishing port in Hormozgan Province

TEHRAN, Iran, May. 16

Iran has started operation to develop its Kong fishing port, Trend reports via IRNA.

Kong is a port city in the central district of Bandar Lengeh County in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran.

General Manager at Hormozgan Fisheries, Abdolrasoul Daryaei, visited the Kong fishing port to observe the operation.

He said the operation to develop the port was backed by credit worth over $8.8 million.

"Presently, the port hosts about 300 fishing vessels and more than 2,000 fishermen," he said.

“The management building of the Kong fishing port will be ready for use by over 70 fishing vessels and more than 430 fishermen, until August 24, 2021,” he said.

"Providing more services to the fishing community of the province is on the agenda of Hormozgan fisheries,” he added.
