The priority of the Kish Free Zone is infrastructures in the island and issues such as water, power, sewage, and internet are on the urgent agenda, said the Managing Director of Kish Free Zone.
The following cases should be implemented in a short-term plan since they are considered a priority and urgent, said Jafar Ahangarani, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
"The internet in the island is an important issue for the island since Kish has all capacities for a smart city so it is necessary to provide infrastructures and latest technologies," he added.
"Environment is an issue that requires special attention and due to island vulnerable environment, it is necessary to follow regulations. Environmental waste accumulation is threatening the island and our plan is to use new technologies to incineration and waste disposal," Ahangarani stressed.
Preliminary work has been done in the field of providing the island's infrastructure. The necessary arrangement was made with the public organizations in this regard and it is expected that the Kish airport development plan would be implemented before the end of the incumbent government (July 2021).
The Ministry of Energy is responsible for the Kish power distribution network and should complete the study plan to connect island power to the national network.
"Tourism development is an important priority therefore we follow the environmental issue to move toward a carbon-free city and converting fossil emission vehicles to hybrid and electric cars," he noted..
