Civil Aviation Organization of Iran talks flights to/from UK amid COVID-19 concerns

TEHRAN, Iran, June 1

Spokesman for the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran Mohammad Hassan Zibakhsh said that Iran's travel restrictions for 42 countries due to COVID-19, still remain in place, Trend reports via IRNA.

"Flights to Iraq are carried out in accordance with special protocols," he added.

Speaking of the recent situation with flights to/from Iran, Zibakhsh noted that restrictions on foreign fights are still enforced.

"The United Kingdom has been removed from the list of banned flights," he said, adding that the flights to/from United Kingdom should be resumed soon.

The official pointed out that travels to India, Pakistan, France, Botswana, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Iraq, Estonia, Ireland, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Slovakia, South Africa and Zambia are now banned (as countries with special COVID-19 conditions).

He went on to say that for the mentioned countries, Iran has a ban on accepting passengers, whether by direct or indirect flights'.

"An exception is considered for diplomats and representatives of international organizations," he said referring to restrictions enforced for the mentioned countries.
