TEHRAN, Iran, June 14
Trend:
Iran seeks to define a 10-year cooperation plan with Qatar to form short term projects in various fields including food industry, oil products and commodities that have market in Qatar, said Deputy for International Affairs at Tehran Chamber of Commerce Hessam Halaj, Trend reports via ILNA.
He said Qatar's imports reach $26 billion import and Iran's share is $360 million.
"Unfortunately Iran's is not among Qatar's top 20 trade partners that are European and neighbors such as Turkey, therefore there should be more research in this regard," he said.
"Our import from Qatar is around $30 million, which is mostly electronics, audio and video devices and tires. Trade balance of the two countries is $310 million in favor of Iran," he said.
"We should try to use Qatar to evade sanctions and make Qatar get interested in expanding ties," he said.
