Foreign auto part makers interested in returning to Iran - Iran's Auto Parts Manufacturers Association

TEHRAN, Iran, July 9

Trend:

Auto makers and auto part makers that previously worked with Iran, have contacted Iran's Auto Parts Manufacturers Association (IAPMA) for possible re-establishment of ties, Secretary of IAPMA Arash Mohebinejad said, Trend reports via IRNA.

"There are negotiations via whispers, phone calls and email since there are still imposed restrictions and nothing has been done so far," he explained.

"These contacts were mostly from (foreign) auto part makers and supply chains and less from automakers," he said.

Mohebinejad noted that there should be a united strategy based on national interests of Iran, and any company that is interested in working in Iran's market, should act within such a framework.

"The auto industry's strategy should be reviewed and should be decided upon, taking into consideration the private sector.

"Iran's auto industry is way behind the 2025 outlook target and it is expected that the new president would be more serious in planning and support of the industry, to bring it back on course," Mohebinejad said.
