Iran to inaugurate new projects valued at $3.5 million in free and special zones by next two months, said the secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones.
"Qeshm, Aras, Kish free zones were the best zones in the launch of projects while Aras and Qeshm have completed most of the projects," said Hamidreza Momeni, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The recent inauguration of national projects in free and special economic zones are valued at $397 million.
"Protecting the environment and its development was an important challenge in free and special economic zones during the past eight years," he added.
The seven-round of operating national projects in free and special economic zones has inaugurated 33 projects which created 1,049 jobs.
So far 20 projects valued at $220 million were inaugurated in Aras Free Trade Zone that created 669 jobs, four projects valued at $24 million inaugurated in Kish Free Zone creating jobs for 78 people, and 9 projects operated in Qeshm Free Zone valued at $151 million that created jobs for 302 people.
