TEHRAN, Iran, July 31

Trend:

An Iranian company was excluded from a project in Afghanistan, possibly, due to pressures of Saudi Arabia, said secretary of Iranian Association of Exporters of Technical and Engineering Services Bahman Salehi Javid, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"A month ago one of Iranian companies attended a tender in Afghanistan and won a $1 billion tender but it's seems that Saudi Arabia, one of the providers of financial resources in this project has excluded the possibility of this Iranian company to participate," said.

"International insurance companies do not insure Iranian companies, therefore continuing work in Afghanistan is not secure, risky," he said.

"Previously, presence of Iranian companies has reduced in Afghanistan due to the presence of Americans, followed by banking and insurance problems. So the amount of Iranian contractors has reduced," he said.

"We hope the next (Iranian) government would be more serious about export of technical and engineering services and have better banking interactions with neighboring countries," he said.
