Iran eyes developing non-oil exports

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.22

Trend:

Iran is seeking to develop non-oil exports that require government support and planning, said a board member of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Trend reports citing ILNA.

The country has good capacities for non-oil exports to 15 neighbor countries and joining the global markets will create jobs, improves quality, and maintain the price of products, Abbas Argon noted.

Although in the current situation Iran's trade balance is negative and the exports mainly focused on raw materials in recent years while the value and volume of exports declined.

Iran's accession to regional and international pacts, marketing, and government financial and legal support would be helpful in the process.

Iran’s non-oil exports were 112 million tons valued at $34.5 billion in the last Iranian year (started March 20, 2020).
