TEHRAN, Iran, May 20. Iran is planning to open
one of the longest freeways in the countryç backed by 120 trillion
rials (about $2.8 billion) worth of investments in the current
Iranian year (started March 21,2022), said the Deputy Minister of
Road and Urban Development Kheyrollah Khademi, Trend reports citing
ISNA.
"The Shiraz-Isfahan freeway, is a 222 kilometers long, has seven
sections, which reached 94 percent in construction, and are almost
ready," he said.
Khademi said this project is one the top priorities of the Iranian government. Also, he said six sections of the freeway will be inaugurated in the current Iranian year.
The investments in the project cam from the government and the private sector sources.
