TEHRAN, Iran, July 29. Iran is to increase export of agricultural products to China, following the signing of two co-op documents between the two countries, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
Iranian Agriculture Ministry has signed two documents with China’s General Administration of Customs to facilitate the access of Iranian exporters to the Chinese markets.
According to Iranian Agriculture Minister Javad Sadati-Nejad, the first document was about the health requirements for the export of fresh citrus fruits from Iran to China, which is very important considering the annual production of 5.5 million tons of citrus fruits in the country.
The second document was signed to facilitate the export of Iranian honey to China. Iran annually produces 130,000 tons of honey and China is an attractive market, he explained.
Iran exports about $500,000 worth of agricultural products to China every year, and the signing of these two documents would increase the volume and value of exports.
The value of Iran’s non-oil exports to China reached $4.081 billion in the first six months of 2022, according to the data released by China’s customs administration.
