BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7. Exports of non-oil products from West Azerbaijan Province, located in northwestern Iran, increased by 50 percent in value terms and 23 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Trend reports, referring to Iran's Customs Administration.
About 2.32 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.1 billion were exported from Iran's Western Azerbaijan Province during the past 11 months.
The main products exported during the 11 months were steel ingots, copper wire, apples, rubber products, and many others. These products were exported mainly to Iraq, Türkiye, UAE, Afghanistan, and Russia.
During the mentioned period, exports of non-oil products by customs located in other provinces of Iran with customs in Western Azerbaijan Province amounted to 2.28 million tons worth $2.49 billion. This is 25 percent less in value and 19 percent less in weight compared to the same period last year.
To note, according to the statistics of Iran's customs administration, Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to about 125 million tons worth about $44.9 billion in the first 11 months. Iran's exports of non-oil products decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 11.4 percent in weight terms.
