Exports of non-oil products from Iran's Bilasuvar border terminal grow

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. Exports of non-oil products from Bilasuvar Border Terminal, located in northwestern Iran, increased 23 percent by weight in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, head of Bilasuvar border terminal Lotfollah Babaei said, Trend reports.

According to Babaei, more than 533,000 tons of non-oil products were exported from the Bilasuvar border terminal in 11 months. In the same period last year, exports of non-oil products amounted to 434,000 tons.

Babaei added that the exported products were mainly ceramics, pepper, glass, profile, salt, cardboard, and construction materials.

The official of the terminal stated that 29,000 tons of products were imported through the Bilasuwar border terminal in 11 months.

He added that 930,000 tons of products were transported through 40,783 trucks from Bilasuvar Border Terminal in 11 months.

To note, Bilasuvar border terminal in Iran's Ardabil province is located on the border with Azerbaijan. This border terminal functions to develop Iran's trade with Georgia and Russia through Azerbaijan.
