BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Iran's crude oil production will increase by 43,000 barrels per day in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), executive director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Jalil Salari said, Trend reports.
According to Salari, a unit will be put into operation at Iran's Abadan Oil Refining Company to produce 9 million liters of gasoline and 5 million liters of diesel fuel daily.
Salari added that, in addition, the unit will be put into operation at Shiraz Oil Refining Company's refinery, and the quality of gasoline produced at the refinery will comply with the Euro-4 standard.
The deputy minister noted that Iran's gasoline production will increase by 30 million liters in 2 years (March 20, 2026), and diesel production will increase by 16 million liters per day.
Salari stated that the Mehr refinery in the Persian Gulf and the Adish refinery will be put into operation in connection with the increase.
To note, Iran's 10 refineries currently process 2.25 million barrels of crude oil and gas condensate daily. Currently, more than 70 percent of the gasoline and diesel produced in the country-75 million liters of gasoline and 70 million liters of diesel-are produced to Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards. It is expected that by March 20, 2027, more than 75 percent of the gasoline and diesel fuel produced will be produced to Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards.
