Iran's Supreme Leader addresses welcoming letter to Tehran nuclear conference

The Iranian people will use the full potential to fight against A-bombs, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's letter addressed to the participants of the Tehran nuclear conference says, IRINN reported.

The letter also states that the nuclear technology occupies a special place in people's everyday lives. In addition, it provides an opportunity to make great achievements in health and industry.

The peace-loving peoples of the Middle East have the right to use peaceful nuclear developments to ensure the future generations with the achievements in the above areas, the letter says.

In his welcoming letter, Khamenei named the U.S. the only country that committed a "crime with the use of nuclear weapons" adding that "this country did not and will not take steps towards nuclear disarmament."

Khamenei told the use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible from the Islamic point of view and named it as a sin.

Today, Tehran opened an international conference on nuclear disarmament. The conference passing under the "Peaceful nuclear energy for all, nuclear weapons - to no one" motto will be attended by representatives of more than 70 countries and international organizations. About 300 Iranian and foreign journalists cover the conference.

The main topics of the forthcoming discussions will be study of the existing problems in the field of nuclear disarmament, the countries' international obligations not to use weapons of mass destruction, ban on the production and use of nuclear weapons and consideration of nuclear weapons from a religious point of view.
