Foreign Minister and Iran's top nuclear negotiator Mohammad-Javad Zarif and European Union Foreign Policy Chief and main negotiator of Group 5+1 Catherine Ashton met in Geneva on Monday evening, IRNA reported.
The new round of talks between Tehran and Group 5+1 including USA, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany starts on Tuesday.
Details of talk between Zarif and Ashton have not been revealed, but diplomats said that Zarif is to discuss Tehran new proposals.
Zarif, heading a high ranking delegation arrived in Geneva on Monday afternoon.
This is the fourth time that Geneva hosts this negotiation.
Zarif attends the opening meeting of the talks and then Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi leads the negotiating team.
According to Araqchi, the Iranian delegation will have bilateral meetings with representatives of the six countries on the sidelines of the main meeting.
