By Khalid Kazimov – Trend:
Iranian deputy foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi, has said that the US decision on imposing fresh sanctions on his country violates the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA/ nuclear deal).
The senior diplomat termed the US decision “hostile move” and said Tehran will issue a response, Mehr news agency reported.
He further said that the new sanctions would leave a negative impact on the nuclear deal.
Araqchi did not specify what measure Iran would take in retaliation.
The US House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to slap new sanctions on Iran, Russia and North Korea. The Republican-controlled Senate passed an earlier version of the bill with near-unanimous support, Reuters reported.
