Iran has once again extended the voting time for the parliamentary and the Assembly of Experts elections, Ministry of Interior said on its website.

The voting time was extended by an hour.

Earlier, the Ministry of Interior extended the voting time by two hours.

Thus, the voting will end at 21:00 local time (GMT +3:30).

A spokesman for the Interior Ministry also said the high voter turnout is expected to continue at the elections.

At 08:00 today, Iranians started voting to elect 290 members of the parliament, and 88 members of the Assembly of Experts.

Some 4,844 candidates are competing, while about 55 million Iranians are eligible to vote. Each nominee should get at least 25 percent of votes in his constituency, otherwise the second round of elections is held a month after the results of the first round.
