Iranian gov't spokesman talks on Azerbaijan's territorial integrity amid recent armed clashes

It is necessary to observe the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei said at a weekly briefing, Trend reports citing Iranian government’s official website.
The spokesman emphasized Iran's position on recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the importance of its observance is quite clear.
Rabii said that the Iranian government has repeatedly stressed that Azerbaijan's rights are legitimate, within the framework of UN resolutions and international law, as far as the country's territorial integrity is concerned.
The United Nations Security Council resolutions #822, #853, #874, #884 of 1993 demand immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the armed forces of Armenia from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
