Iranian telecom company’s employees stage protest

Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 22

By Temkin Jafarov - Trend:

Over 700 employees of the Telecommunication Company of Iran held a protest in front of the country's parliament in Tehran, the Iranian news agency IRNA said Oct. 22.

The reason for the protest of the company's employees, including those who came from the provinces, is the failure to issue wages and the non-compliance with the terms of employment and insurance contracts.

The protesters said they did not receive their salaries for the past nine months.

In Iran's provinces the Telecommunication Company has 30 offices, and employs over 10,000 employees in rural areas.
