BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 19. The wage of manual workers in Iran has been increased by 35.3 percent for the next Iranian year (March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), compared to the current year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), Trend reports.

The relevant decision was made at the meeting of the Supreme Labor Council, operating under the Ministry of Labor, Social Welfare, and Cooperation of Iran.

According to the decision, this figure has been increased by 6.91 million rials (about $164) per month.

Taking into account other certain payments (number of family members, various coupons, etc.), the monthly salary of manual workers in the coming Iranian year will be 111 million rials (about $2,640).

Iran's Deputy Minister of Labor, Alihossein Raiyatifard, said about the details of the salary increase for the workers that the daily minimum wage has increased by 35 percent from the current year to 2.39 million rials (about $56.8) for next year.

According to him, a minimum monthly payment of 7.17 million rials (about $171) was set for the worker for each minor child next month. A total of 14 million rials (about $333) are planned for the purchase of consumer products.

To note, despite the increase in the wages of manual workers in Iran, this number is very low for the workers. Various problems, including inflation, devaluation, liquidity, etc., have resulted in their income remaining at a minimum level.
