Date set for next meeting of Caspian littoral states' working groups

Special Envoy of the Iranian President on Caspian Issues Mehdi Akhundzadeh will visit Baku, Spokesman for the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan Abbas Isgandari told Trend.
Date set for next meeting of Caspian littoral states' working groups

Special Envoy of the Iranian President on Caspian Issues Mehdi Akhundzadeh will visit Baku, Spokesman for the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan Abbas Eskandari told Trend.
Isgandari added that the next meeting of the Caspian littoral states' working groups on determining the Caspian Sea status will be held in Baku on April 26 and Akhundzadeh visits Baku to attend this meeting.

The Caspian littoral states' Baku summit was held in Baku on Nov.18.
The next summit will be held in Russia in 2011. Russia is supposed to organize relevant meetings beforehand.

In November 2003, the Caspian countries signed the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea.
In July 1998 Russia and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the delineation of the northern part of the Caspian Sea in order to exercise sovereign rights for subsoil use.
On Nov. 29, 2001, and Feb. 27, 2003, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan signed an agreement on the delineation of the Caspian Sea.
Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Russia signed an agreement on the delineation of adjacent sections of the Caspian Sea on May 14, 2003.
