BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9. The Karabakh Declaration is a roadmap for the Organization of Turkic States to gain more political, economic, and security benefits, political analyst Akshin Karimov told Trend.

He noted that at the same time, the declaration covers priorities on integration at the institutional level within the framework of the OTS and the resolution of unfinished issues.

"It emphasizes integrated approaches, the OTS's views on regional and international politics. The Karabakh Declaration is a collection of ideas for a broader format of cooperation. In this sense, the position of the OTS is strengthened in several directions. For example, the OTS plans to achieve its goals by strengthening regional ties and integration between the participants through the East-West transport corridor or the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route - Middle Corridor connecting Europe, Türkiye, South Caucasus, Central Asia, and China," Karimov said.

Referring to the economic aspects of the Karabakh Declaration, economist expert Araz Azimli noted that the role of Turkic states in the development of world trade and economy in the region and the world is undeniable.

"If we look at the recent years, trade relations between the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States are developing on an ascending line. The gradual expansion of economic relations within the OTS is due to mutual trust. The OTS is recognized as a reputable structure by the countries of the world. The gross domestic product (GDP) in the member states is estimated at $1.5 trillion and trade turnover at $1.2 trillion. Overall, 2.4 percent of the world trade turnover is accounted for by the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States. Turkic states have great economic potential, energy resources, transportation routes, and modern military capabilities.

Nowadays, the volume of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor is growing. This growth has also affected Azerbaijan's economic ties. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkic states has increased by 70 percent compared to previous years. The 10th summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Shusha will further strengthen economic cooperation ties between the member states," he noted.
